In this post I want to inspire you with one mama who’s kicking the BUTT of all her goals during quarantine. (And guess what! Even if Quarantine is over… this story still ROCKS. And the message is still relevant and very important in 2021.) Let’s jump right into Kara’s story and Kara’s goals during Quarantine.
Staying on Top of Your Goals During Quarantine
How this mom is staying fit during the quarantine
It wasn’t like Kara didn’t know how to be fit.
As a bodybuilder and competitor, she knew what it was like to go to the gym and put in quality hours.
But life is never simple. As a mother of two who has started working from home since the pandemic hit, it got even harder to achieve the results she was looking for. When I asked her what she was struggling with, she replied:
“Consistency and balance. I was either all the way healthy or going in the complete opposite direction.”
There’s nothing more frustrating than flip-flopping. Going back and forth leaves anyone exhausted and unmotivated, and it can take a massive toll on your body. With Kara and her family struggling to find their “new normal” at home, things got even more complicated.
How do I find the time? Where do I go to get a good workout in with the gym closed? Should I feel guilty about not spending time with my kids? If I put in all this effort, will it be worth it?
Do any of these worries sound familiar?
That’s when Kara decided to join the Mother’s Strong League.
The “MSL” (as I like to call it) is a program specifically tailored for moms and moms-to-be. And when I say mother, I mean mother. I don’t care how long it’s been since you had your baby—you’re still a mother, and your body is still adjusting after your pregnancy.
Kara knew what it was like to get a good workout in. But with the MSL, she saw her potential not only as an athlete but as a mother.
“I couldn’t believe it was actually possible to ‘have it all,’” she said. “The high intensity/high reps/smaller amount of cardio is so different than what I am used to. I have been in the gym for years, but I still find myself looking up most of the exercises, which is exciting. I am still constantly learning while doing this program which makes it easy for me to look forward to every day. It gives me a real sense of purpose.”
As moms, sometimes it’s hard to give ourselves permission to be human. We think we have to “do and be it all,” and then somehow magically keep everything together. With all the chaos and busyness, oftentimes, it’s our health that takes a backseat.
Here’s the truth:
Your health is an investment for yourself and your family.
When you’re healthy, happy, and balanced, you have the strength and the energy to show up for your kids with positivity.
No matter who you are, where you’re from, and what kind of stressors you’re balancing in your life, most of us can relate to at least a few of Kara’s concerns. With the pandemic, I’ve had to sneak in conference calls in my closet. (Yeah—I wish I were joking. True story.) Coming at this from a mom’s perspective, I wanted MSL to tackle the real struggles moms face every day.
This is a big one! With everyone suddenly in the house and the “new normal” settling in, one day looks very different from the next one. But consistency is key. According to fitness researchers, having a balanced schedule is essential to reaching your goals. And in this crazy time, MSL provides a clear, guided schedule that walks you through the program step by step to keep you on track.
This was the boost that Kara needed, especially through COVID-19.
“Had I not found this program, I’m almost positive I would be miserable,” she said. “I really look forward to each and every workout every day. It gives me a sense of purpose and adds the much-needed structure and alone time that we all desperately need during this time. It has been my saving grace.”
Sometimes, just putting in the hours isn’t enough, and that’s frustrating—especially when no one can get into the gym. If the gym is an escape for you or you feel like you just can’t get the same results in your living room, you’re not alone.
“Up until this pandemic and (starting this) program, I was telling people I ‘couldn’t’ work out from home,” Kara said. “I never worked up a sweat or felt like I was accomplishing anything.”
That’s when you need someone coming alongside you to guide and encourage you. You can get the results you want at home but knowing how to do it is half the battle. Add in diet, mentality, and motivation, and you’ve got a pandemic-proof plan.
This is why I wanted the MSL to be more than just an “in your inbox” program. MSL is a community—a group of hard-working mothers coming together to support one another. By bringing on professional coaching, registered dieticians, and building one another up, we find strength beyond the average workout program.
And, frankly, that’s how it should be.
Let’s be honest—this is the best part, right? Looking great, feeling better, and empowering your whole family by modeling motherhood strength. When you give yourself permission to achieve a goal, you’re showing your entire family that they can do the same.
This program focuses on getting sustainable results FAST. Because, let’s face it—if you’re a mom, your schedule is probably already jam-packed.
With a little bit of guidance, you can learn how to get the results you want from home.
“I learned to work out from home, something I thought I ‘couldn’t do’ or ‘hated’ prior to this,” Kara said. “This program has been a real ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ for me during this extremely trying and stressful time.”
Kara is a real mom facing the real challenges of our crazy, ever-changing world. But with a little guidance, support, and perspective, she’s living proof that we are more powerful than our circumstances.
“I tell my family and friends all the time that now is the time,” she told me. “They will not regret signing up.”
