How this mom is staying fit during the quarantine
It wasn’t like Kara didn’t know how to be fit.
As a bodybuilder and competitor, she knew what it was like to go to the gym and put in quality hours.
But life is never simple. As a mother of two who has started working from home since the pandemic hit, it got even harder to achieve the results she was looking for. When I asked her what she was struggling with, she replied:
“Consistency and balance. I was either all the way healthy or going in the complete opposite direction.”
There’s nothing more frustrating than flip-flopping. Going back and forth leaves anyone exhausted and unmotivated, and it can take a massive toll on your body. With Kara and her family struggling to find their “new normal” at home, things got even more complicated.
How do I find the time? Where do I go to get a good workout in with the gym closed? Should I feel guilty about not spending time with my kids? If I put in all this effort, will it be worth it?

I am still constantly learning while doing this program which makes it easy for me to look forward to every day. It gives me a real sense of purpose.”
As moms, sometimes it’s hard to give ourselves permission to be human. We think we have to “do and be it all,” and then somehow magically keep everything together. With all the chaos and busyness, oftentimes, it’s our health that takes a backseat.

With the pandemic, I’ve had to sneak in conference calls in my closet. (Yeah—I wish I were joking. True story.)
