Fit mom gift guide: Gifts for moms

Ladies…how often are you given a gift that you LOVE? Makes you feel like the gift giver totally gets YOU. If it’s not often, that means it’s time for some hints. As much as we wish our guys were so in tune with us that they would pick out the perfect gift every time, unfortunately that’s not always true! (Case in point: one time my husband got me a calendar from the previous year!! 100% true story!) So feel free to forward this to those getting you gifts this holiday season.

Guys, if your wife/girlfriend/significant other has forwarded you this blog…take note!! I get it— sometimes it’s so hard to pick out the perfect meaningful gifts and you draw a blank when thinking about what to get. So if you’re on the lookout for gifts for the fitness mom/woman in your life, check out this list. You’re sure to find something to make her happy, or if you’re feeling extra generous, put together a few of the ideas below into a gift basket!

Fit mom gift guide:

1-    Headphones. For me, training without music is like watching paint dry. I have forgotten mine a few times and those were probably the worst workouts I have ever had. LOL…I have gone through A LOT of headphones, but a couple years ago I bought a BEATS by Dre headphone set, and they are AMAZING! The sound quality is very good (Not that I am an expert to talk about sound quality, but they sound good to me.) The battery lasts forever and I just like how they fit. They are a bit pricey, but worth every penny…As I said, I have had mine for over 2 years so I feel like it was indeed a good investment.

2-    Sneakers/Tennis Shoes. Another thing a fit chick can never have too many of: SNEAKERS! And, if someone tells you have too many…cut that person off, you don’t need that kind of negativity in your life! Ha! I think I own every single brand of sneakers, as I am slightly obsessed, and my favorite brands are: Adidas, Nike and Brooks.

I like Adidas’ styles, they always have cool designs. Nike has good lifting shoes like the Metcon, and Brooks are amazing shoes for running.

3-    Workout clothes are ALWAYS welcome in a fit chick’s wardrobe. You can never have too many leggings nor sports bras…not to mention that sometimes a nice new set of gym clothes is just the motivation you need to get to the gym. My GO-TO brand to wear in the gym is Better Bodies. The fitting and the quality are UNREAL (Use promo code: MELO20 for a discount).

4-    A membership to my Mother Strong League program. If the fit mom in your life is having a hard time getting in her workout and eating healthily, she will definitely LOVE a membership to the Mother Strong League. The MSL offers gym AND home workouts, and it has an incredibly flexible approach to the nutrition aspect. (Yes, wine and chocolate are allowed!) Plus, she gets the support and motivation of an online community of other fit moms.

5-    Supplements are also a great gift for a fit mom! I personally can’t live without a good quality protein powder and some pre-workout supplement for a little pick me up after a rough night with the kids. I think protein shakes are a good way to make sure you are getting enough protein and they are also great to make ‘’healthier’’ snack options. My supplements of choice are from Dymatize. I LOOOVE the Iso100 Whey Protein Chocolate Peanut Butter Flavor and Pre W.O. Pineapple Orange Crush is is the pre workout that pushes my workouts when the nights are tough.

6-    Massage/Spa gift card: A fit mom can ALWAYS use some time for herself and to relax… So, a gift voucher for a massage place or for a spa will definitely ‘’wow’’ her! It certainly would ‘’wow’’ me! =D

7-    Resistance Bands are a great way to get a workout in from the comfort of your home. (Don’t worry, we will give you loads of great workout ideas in the Mother Strong League Home Edition). My favorite brand of bands is B-force Bands. (Use Promo Code MELOFIT30 for 30% OFF!)

8-    Coffee gift card: A gift voucher for a nearby coffee shop is another good choice. Moms need caffeine, LOTS of it… plus, I do not know one mom/woman who doesn’t like Starbucks…so, you will be getting lots of brownie point with a gift voucher for a coffee shop.

9-    A babysitter ‘’voucher’’. No, really! We are easily pleased, and offering to pay for a babysitter so mom and dad can go on a date night and enjoy some romantic time is DEFINITELY a fantastic gift. Or just a babysitter so mom can do nothing. LOL!

So there you have it. Ladies, if you’re a mom who’s into fitness and this list hits the mark for you, feel free to forward it.
