A Typical Day in the Life of a Busy Mom

I’m like you, a busy mom.

One of the most commonly asked questions I’m asked when it comes to motherhood and life is what my days look like.

For some of you reading this, I’m not sure what your expectations are…but I’ll warn you now: there isn’t much glamour to it as a busy mom! Just a heads up, lol.

Since moving to Texas, we’ve had no family help and very little outside help. The kids aren’t in any kind of preschool or daycare—YET! (I’m anxiously waiting for August, when they’ll start going for 2 DAYS…yup, I’m totally doing my happy dance right now.) Because we get so little help with the kids, my husband and I are constantly performing some serious juggling acts to make sure everyone’s healthy and alive…hahaha!

So here’s a typical day in the life:

7:30ish: Wake up. (Well…who am I kidding? LOL.) Wake up times vary greatly over here, anywhere from 4:30-8:15 am. But for the sake of “precision,” we’ll say 7:30!

8:15 am: Get the kids fed and watered.

8:30 am: I start to get ready while trying to stop Chloe from stealing Nico’s food. The girl can eat!

9:00 am: Get the kids ready and start our daily “leaving the house” conundrum.

9:15 am: Ideal departure time.

9:30-9:45 am: Actual departure time.

9:45-10:00 am: Arrive at the gym and drop the kids off in the childcare facility. *Sings “FREEEEEDOOOM” while walking out*

9:50 am: Do some work, either at the gym restaurant or while walking on a treadmill.

10:50 am: Workout.

11:45 am-12:00 pm: Get the kids from the childcare facility and head back home.

12:30 pm: Feed the kids and myself.

1:45-2:00 pm: Naptime. (Not for me, obviously…although I could 100% do with a nap most days.)

2:00 pm: Make the house look somewhat presentable and less like a tornado’s just hit.

2:15 pm: More work for me!

4:00 pm: Wake everybody up so they can destroy all the cleaning I did two hours prior.

5:00 pm: Visit the park or child play place with the kids

6:00 pm: Dinner for the kids, while we start making dinner for the adults. (My husband and I take turns cooking.)

7:00 pm: Adults dinner.

7:30 pm: Bathtime and bedtime for the kids. Roger and I always do this together, and we take turns putting the kids to bed. One day. he puts Nico to bed, and the next day I do. It’s a great way to make sure we get to have our own special time with both of the children.

8:00 pm: Hubby and I spend about 30 minutes trying to catch up on each other’s day.

8:30 pm: I normally get back to work at this time.

11:00-11:15 pm: Time to get ready for bed, and to prepare things for tomorrow.

12:00 am: Go to bed.

Aaaand, that’s what my days look like! =D I told you…nothing overly exciting, but they’re still intense—which is just how I like it!

Obviously, some days things change slightly. For example, my husband comes home and stays with the kids when I want to do something for myself, like get my nails or lashes done. But 90% of the time, this is exactly what my days look like as a busy mom.
