6 Valentine’s Day Date Ideas to Spice up Your Love Life

I’ve got a special February surprise for you! I’m sharing 6 Valentine’s Day date ideas that are guaranteed to spice up your love life!

With Valentine’s Day approaching, you may be thinking… “What should we do? Is there anything out of the ordinary we could do together?” I’ve got you, girl!!! I have listed several of my favorite (and less cliche) activities that I either love doing or will be adding to a bucket list for my husband and me.

This year I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and do something that will require you and your significant other to engage in ways you don’t normally do. I guarantee you will learn something special and unique about your partner that you didn’t know before. Also, don’t be afraid to choose more than one activity! And be sure to drop me suggestions in the comments below with your unique date ideas!

My 6 Valentine’s Day Date Ideas

Hike or nature walk

Being outdoors is so therapeutic and relaxing and chances are you and your significant other haven’t had time to escape your busy life and sit back and enjoy the beauty of what’s right outside your doorstep. Make a quick google search for nearby trails, hikes, or state/national parks and get moving! There’s a big perk to this one, guys! You will be burning lots of calories on a day when most are indulging in chocolate and overpriced hors d’oeuvres. WINNER!

Tour a winery or go to a wine tasting

If you have followed me for any amount of time you’ve likely seen my love for wine. This date option is one of my very favorites not only so my husband knows which nice bottle of wine to surprise me with (LOL), but also because I get stuck in the same routine of buying the same grocery store wine. It’s so nice to branch out and try some others on occasion! You are guaranteed to learn something about your S.O. too!

It is also a great opportunity to connect with your partner and learn a thing or two about wine.

Cooking class

Raise your hand if you can’t cook?!?! I’ve heard you guys tell me this 100 times! It’s time to put that excuse to rest and learn from a professional. Check out Groupon or your local events website for cooking classes and chef appearances near you. This is always a fun option and you will without a doubt learn something you can incorporate into dinners to come! I challenge you to reciprocate what you learned the next weekend so you don’t forget it. You will want to keep practicing this one as they say food is the way to a man’s heart! <3

Themed dinner and Movie Night at Home

Valentine’s Day is the day guys get to pretend they enjoy our favorite chick flicks! Break the mold and choose a movie that you both will enjoy indulging in a dinner you BOTH prepared. Need dinner options? Check out my recent recipe post.

Ice skating, rollerblading, or bike ride

Have you ever noticed many of the romantic movies have scenes from an ice rink? There is something so romantic about being bundled up and skating alongside your loved one in a beautiful ice arena. Don’t know how to skate? That’s okay, ask the rink for a skate trainer. This device allows you to hold onto a sturdy device in front of you to ensure you won’t lose your balance. I can guarantee this will have you and your partner laughing before you even begin. If skating isn’t your thing then I encourage you to do something active instead.

An Escape Room

Escape Rooms are popping up everywhere nationwide. These dates require both you and your partner to put your teamwork skills to the test. The idea of an Escape Room is that you get locked in a room with a few other people, and have to look for clues to escape the room.  We went to an Escape Room when we first moved to Texas, and I thought my Roger (my husband) had lost his mind when he told me what he had booked for us. But, I decided to give it a try… and, I LOVED IT! It was so much fun!

Search for an escape room near you and find the kind that interests you (they vary in theme, difficulty, and length). After you conquer it, be sure to ‘cheers’ to the success and the great time you’ve spent together!

Valentine’s Day is the perfect chance to rekindle your love and hopefully get a sitter to have some alone time with your significant other. Do you have any suggestions for Valentine’s Day date ideas?
