What sperm count, motivation, and bedroom performance all have in common
Let’s be real: men are struggling with their health, too. They just don’t always talk about it.
Having higher body fat levels does increase the enzyme that converts testosterone to estrogen because estrogen is actually a very protective hormone both in men and women. - Ali Gilbert

Nathalia:
Welcome back to the Unfiltered Fit Life podcast!
Today I’m joined by Ali Gilbert—aka the Queen of Men’s Health, aka the Boner Queen (yes, she put that in her booking link 😂).
We’re diving into men’s hormones, low testosterone, and how women can actually help the men in their lives without it turning into World War III.
Testosterone Talk: What Women Need to Know
Ali:
Low testosterone doesn’t just mean low sex drive.
It’s brain fog, lack of motivation, poor sleep, and feeling “off” in ways most men don’t know how to describe.
Nathalia:
And it can show up way earlier than you think—even in men in their 20s.
Ali:
Exactly. And if you’re the health decision-maker in the house (which most women are), this info is gold.
How to Spot Low T
Ali:
Here’s what to look for:
-
He’s more tired than usual
-
He avoids the gym or fun family stuff
-
His sex drive disappears
-
He’s not himself—and he knows it, but can’t explain it
Why Men Avoid Help
Ali:
Men aren’t wired to talk about this stuff.
They don’t know the words. And honestly? They feel shame.
But judgment shuts them down—what works better is saying, “I know you’re better than this.”
TRT vs Steroids: What’s the Difference?
Ali:
TRT is therapeutic—it helps men get to normal hormone levels.
Steroids are used in much higher doses for muscle gain. Not the same thing.
The Social Media Problem
Nathalia:
Just like women, men fall into the comparison trap too.
They see shredded influencers and expect the same results in 30 days.
Ali:
It’s delusional. Building muscle takes time. So does rebuilding your health. If your man isn’t feeling like himself—there’s a reason. Stress, sleep, excess body fat, and age all play a role. And it can get better with the right support.
Nathalia:
