The Things Holding People Back From Joining the Mother Strong League
I’ve been training women for several years now, through all stages of their pregnancy. And believe me, as a mother of two, I know how hard it can be to find the time, money and energy to work on YOU. I designed the Mother Strong League specifically to help moms. To help them take control of their day and start putting themselves first every once and a while… but any investment (and commitment) brings a lot of questions and concerns! Which is why I want to put your mind at ease.
I’ve been compiling the most common reasons as to why women do not join the MSL, and you will see that more often than not, everything is “figureoutable”. Let’s break it down. Here’s the top reasons people didn’t join the Mother Strong League.
Girrrrlllll… I feel you! This whole mommying thing has me sitting here thinking about all the free time I had before my kids came along. There never seems to be enough hours in the day, but the thing is, if you are NOT happy with where you are now both physically and emotionally… then you must do something to change that.
Let’s face it, time is the world’s most valuable commodity, and the reason for that is because you cannot get it back.
So I want you to stop for a minute and imagine where you would be if you started to work on those things you wanted to change 3 years, 3 months or even 3 weeks ago? But in reality… that time passed and nothing has changed.
When you want to make changes that are truly important to you, you’ll find a way to MAKE the time for them. I say this not from a place of judgement, but because I see the ladies in the MSL doing it every day.
Let me tell you about a few of my MSL babes.
Faith is a mom of 2 with a full time job. Her youngest son has diabetes which means she is up every few hours to check on him. So how does she make time for the program?
She takes turns between the home and gym workouts in the program, so she can better accommodate her work + school drop off + full time job.
Then there’s Mikayla. She’s a mom of a 3 and a 1 year old, and with her husband being deployed she keeps BUSY. She needed to try many different workout times staying up as late as 12-1AM, until she found one that worked for her and her family.
And then, Denise, who is a mom of 1 who has a full time job that requires a lot of travelling. She has to juggle her workouts around her travel schedule, mom duties, wife duties…which means that sometimes she needs to wake up a bit earlier or go to bed a bit later than everyone else, but she finds the time.
These are just a few of the many stories women who could easily say they don’t have the time. But instead, they rearranged their days and made the time. With the guidance provided in the Mother Strong League, they have a plan to train wherever and whenever it works for them and their busy schedule.
Now that we’ve determined that you’re going to have to make the time in your busy schedule for the Mother Strong League, I wanted to talk about another thing holding people back from joining.
Yup! I am going to go ahead and address the elephant in the room. A LOT of people (coaches especially) don’t like to talk about the dreaded V word… Value!
But you’re probably starting to notice that I don’t hold back, and I don’t sugar coat it. Believe me, I’m a mom, I get it! We’re always thinking that we could be putting that money to better use doing something for our kids. Afterall, kids are expensive AF.
Seriously tho… I knew kids were expensive but I did NOT realize how much those little people could cost! ????
However, the thing is, if you aren’t feeling confident in your skin… and you keep putting yourself last on your to do list… You will NOT be able to be your best to those exact tiny humans that you are saving for!
I’m not here to talk about splurging. This is about investing in your physical (and mental) health It’s about joining a program that understands where you are, and caters to those very needs.
In fact, we just had a member, Brenna ask for a refund just 2 weeks after joining. Now she is one of the MSL biggest fans! She didn’t leave us, and in fact she wrote this in our closed Facebook Community:
“I had considered not being a part of this group at one point because I thought I was being selfish and should put the money toward diapers, future day care, etc. But, then I realized and reminded myself that how I feel in my own skin is worthy of investments too. Yes, my son is the main concern, but his world will only be better if mine is healthy and happy.”
That should tell you right there… investing in yourself and taking care of yourself is not a selfish splurge! It’s an investment in your future and it’s going to improve your health, well being and mood around the house. Happy mom, happy home, right?
Talk about one of the biggest concerns from women before joining the Mother Strong League… Women are concerned because they are planning for a baby at some point and they’re not sure they will be able to keep up with the workouts.
You hear left and right these days that you shouldn’t do this or you should do that when you’re pregnant. It’s confusing to say the least. Because of this conflicting information, women get worried that if they join the program, they’ll just have to quit when they get pregnant.
But hey girl! Don’t worry, We’ve got you covered! The Mother Strong League has an entire program designed specifically for pregnancy. If one of our members becomes pregnant, she just need to let us know and we instantly switch her to the pregnancy safe plan.
Michelle is one of our members, who got pregnant just a few months after joining the MSL. She said in a post in a group that she never thought she could have a pregnancy where she feels incredibly healthy and energetic and where she had minimum weight gain (baby is fine measuring 3 weeks ahead). During her previous pregnancies, she didn’t have any guidance… and she always ate for 2 and didn’t exercise much. This is because she didn’t know what safe and what all she should be eating. This pregnancy, has not been like that at all!
I didn’t call this program the MOTHER Strong League for nothing. Believe me, we’ve got your back at all stages of Motherhood, pregnancy and postpartum. So no matter what stage you are in, the MSL has a program designed for you.
(i.e. most programs require you eat foods your kids won’t touch! Meaning you end up cooking two -or five?- meals instead of one)
One of the biggest struggles for most moms is finding the time and energy to cook different meals for the whole family. It can be so hard to cook the ‘healthy/low calorie’ meal for yourself while you’re also making a nice plate of pasta for everyone else in the family.
And you know your kids are not going to want to eat those healthy and low calorie meals, because that would just be too easy.????
So what if I told you that you can have the same food as your family AND you can get in shape while dropping weight.
You’d probably say, “stop talking crazy Nathalia!”. I’m not talking crazy. I’m 100% serious. It’s possible!
I can’t remember the last time I had to cook something different for my family. And if you asked the moms in the Mother Strong League, they’d say they couldn’t remember the last time either! This is because in the program, we teach you how to eat for your goals. And we do that in a way that also takes into account the lack of time and energy of moms.
Oh and did I mention we also talk about being able to still enjoy date nights and dinner’s out? Without having to check the restaurant menu ahead of time? You’ll be able to walk away from the Mother Strong League with a healthy mindset around food and even more time because you won’t be cooking more than one meal a night!
The last reason people don’t want to join the Mother Strong League is because they’ve had too much poor coaching in their lives. They’ve struggled with coaches disappearing and reappearing when it’s time to get paid. And, trust me… I TOTALLY GET IT! That’s happened to me, so I understand where the frustration comes from.
A lack of coaching is incredibly frustrating. It is exactly what I did NOT want to do when I created this program.
In the Mother Strong League, we have 2 Live Q&As a month to answer all the questions our members have. On top of that, my team and I are constantly active in the group to make sure no members feel left behind.
If there are some specific questions that are out of my scope of work as a trainer, those get answered too in the Expert Corner.
The Expert Corner is where incredibly qualified professionals like Registered Dietitian, Physical Therapist, Women’s Health Physical Therapist, Obgyn, and many more. They come and answer the more complex questions our members have.
In the Mother Strong League, the last thing I want is for you to feel like your coach just disappeared on you! I’m personally invested in the success of each of my mothers and I work extra hard to make sure they know that.
So there’s no magic disappearing acts here!
Raise your hand if you shared in any of those reasons for not joining the Mother Strong League. Were you worried you won’t have enough time? Stressed about the cost? Trying to get pregnant or struggling already with meal planning? Or were you worried I’d be the kind of coach that took your money and ran?
Or maybe this blog has helped you realize that many times the main reason people don’t join comes down to one. They are scared of what can happen.
And, I will tell you what WILL happen:
You will become a strong, fit, and confident mama. You will be able to give your best to your family because you FEEL your best!
